Great old recipe. Delicious on yellow cake, banana cake, white cake, pineapple cake, coconut cake, chocolate cake!! Or just ice your favorite cake. So delicious! Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
4 tablespoons half and half (can use whole milk) |
2 cups sifted powdered sugar, approximately |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in saucepan 2. Add brown sugar 3. Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly 4. Stir in cream 5. Bring back to boil, stirring constantly 6. Remove from heat, cool to lukewarm 7. Gradually add powdered sugar 8. Beat until thick and creamy enough to spread 9. If icing becomes too stiff, add a little hot water 10. Ice away!! |
