This is my grandmother's classic, easy, delicious recipe. Try it, you will not be disappointed. Ingredients:

                                                1 cup quick-cooking grits |
                                                1/2 cup butter |
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese |
                                                2 eggs |
                                                1 cup milk |
                                                3 tablespoons garlic powder |
                                                1 tablespoon paprika |

                    Directions:

                                1. Cook grits according to package directions. 2. Stir in butter and cheddar cheese, cut into cubes. 3. Crack 2 eggs into measuring cup, and fill measuring cup up to the 1 cup line with milk (scant). Stir. Add generous amounts of garlic powder. 4. Add milk/egg mixture to grits/cheese/butter mixture. Stir well. 5. Pour prepared mixture into 8x8 (brownie size) pan. 6. Bake at 350 F for 60 minutes. 7. ENJOY! They taste even better the next day. Refrigerate leftovers. |
