Clear the kitchen counters and carve out some time with your kids this holiday season to make these Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies. You'll have just as much fun cutting the festive shapes as you will enjoying their flavor! Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter, softened |
1/3 cup shortening |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
1 tablespoon milk |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cover and chill dough for 3 hours. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 1/8-inch thickness; cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Arrange on ungreased baking sheets.
