OLD FASHIONED PUMPKIN PIE WITH HONEY GINGER CREAM DATED 1967 This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Jennet Estate in Allen, Texas in 1983. Read more
Ingredients:
1 stick or 1/2 packet pie crust mix
2 eggs
16 ounce can pumpkin
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves
13 ounce can evaporated milk
honey ginger cream
2 cups chilled whipping cream
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Prepare pastry for 9” one crust pie as directed on package.
3. Beat eggs slightly with rotary beater then beat in remaining ingredients.
4. Pour into pastry lined pie pan then bake 15 minutes then reduce heat to 350 and bake 45 minutes.
5. Cool and serve with honey ginger cream.
6. For cream beat chilled whipping cream until stiff then gradually add honey and ginger.
7. Chill 2 hours before serving.
