From my mom's Gooseberry Patch Hometown Favorites. Ingredients:
3 cups water |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
2 cups long-cooking oats, uncooked |
2 eggs |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup molasses |
1/3 cup maple syrup |
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 tablespoon ground ginger |
1/4 lb raisins |
1/4 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, add water and salt; heat until boiling. 2. Add in oats;cook for 5 minutes; cool. 3. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients; add in oats; mix to combine. 4. Pour mixture into a greased 13x9 inch pan. 5. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. 6. Serve hot. |
