It is really good either way. In the restaurant it is served with vanilla ice cream on top and a drizzle of pure maple syrup. Ingredients:
3 cups water |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1 2/3 cups old fashioned oats (not instant) |
2/3 cup raisins |
1/2 cup maple syrup |
1/4 cup dark molasses |
1/4 cup dark brown sugar |
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ginger |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
chilled milk or heavy cream |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F degrees. 2. Bring water to a boil, add, salt, reduce heat to medium high and add oats. 3. Cook for 5 minutes. 4. Transfer the oatmeal to a 6 cup souffle dish. 5. Add all the remaining ingredients, except milk. 6. Stir until well combined. 7. Bake until set (approx 1 hour). 8. Spoon into bowls and pour milk, cream on it. |
