Old Fashioned Pineapple Filling and Frosting |

This is my grandmother's recipe for pineapple cake filling. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
5 ounces evaporated milk (1 small can) |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3 egg yolks |
1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained |
Directions:
1. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter. 2. Add sugar and evaporated milk to melted butter and stir. 3. Stir in egg yolks and cook over medium heat until mixture thickens- about 5 minutes. 4. Remove from heat and stir in drained pineapple. 5. Pour over warm cake. |
