Another one from my mom. I associate this with springtime but it is good year round. From Gooseberry Patch's Hometown Favorites Cookbook. Ingredients:
1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, thawed and well drained |
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained |
1 cup celery, thinly sliced |
1/2 cup sliced green onion |
1/4 cup mayonnaise |
1/4 cup sour cream |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add the first 4 ingredients; stir to combine. 2. In a smaller bowl, add the mayonnaise and sour cream; stir to blend. 3. Spoon the mayo mixture over the pea mixture; gently stir to coat. 4. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 5. This tastes better to me chilled so I let it refrigerate 4-6 hours before serving. |
