I'm not sure where my family got this recipe but we've been making it for over 50 years. It's got egg in it so it's a very rich custard ice cream. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon flour |
2 cups milk |
2 egg yolks |
2 (12 ounce) cans evaporated milk |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. In double boiler mix milk, salt, sugar, flour on med. heat 5 minute stir constantly. 2. Lightly beat yolks, temper with a little hot milk, add to double boiler, stir constantly for 2 minute. 3. Chill in fridge or freezer till cool, add vanilla and evaporated milk. 4. Follow ice cream freezer instructions. |
