A typical French Canadian meat pâté served cold, with bread slices or crackers as an appetizer. Ingredients:
1 lb minced pork, more fat than lean |
1 cup dry bread crumbs |
1 onion, grated |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
salt and pepper to taste |
1/2 tsp ground cloves |
1/2 tsp cinnamon or to taste |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan. Mix together, cover and cok over low heat for 1 hour. Stir once or twice during the cooking period. When cooked, pour into a bowl, cover and refrigerate. 2. This pâté is served cold, with fresh bread slices or crackers. |
