Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp with Pecans |

Lots of apple slices with brown sugar are topped with an oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecan mixture, then baked until the topping is crisp. Ingredients:
10 cups sliced, peeled cooking apples |
1/3 cup packed brown sugar |
3/4 cup rolled oats |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/3 cup butter, melted |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine apples and the 1/3 cup brown sugar in a 3-quart rectangular baking dish; set aside until ready to use. 2. For topping, combine rolled oats, the 1/2 cup brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add melted butter; mix well. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture. 3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm with ice cream. |
