Old English a Hot Mulled Cider |

This is the real thing an old world recipe.Cider & grape juices blended with spices & brandy. It makes a lot, great for a get together. If course you can 1/2 or even 1/4 the recipe. Ingredients:
2 quarts apple cider |
2 quarts grape juice, red |
2 cups orange juice |
3 lemons, sliced |
3 oranges, sliced |
2 pieces candied ginger |
1 cinnamon stick |
4 whole cloves |
2 cardamom pods |
1 cup brandy |
Directions:
1. Mix the cider, juices, lemons, and oranges in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. 2. Tie ginger and spices in a cheesecloth bag; add to saucepan. 3. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. 4. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minute 5. Remove spice bag. 6. Stir in brandy. 7. Serve warm in chafing dish or heat-proof punch bowl. 8. Serves 36 (1/2 cup each). |
