Oktoberfest Sauerkraut

Traditional sauerkraut with flavors of the autumn season
Ingredients:
sauerkraut
brown mustard seeds
beer (pumkin ale or oktoberfest brew)
cider
grilled sausages (bratwurst, weisswurst, etc.)
macintosh apples
Directions:
1. Heat saute pan to med
2. Add sauerkraut
3. Add mustard seeds and mix
4. Add beer and mix (I use a Pumkin Ale - Brooklyn Brewery makes a good one - Post Road Pumkin Ale)
5. Add cider and mix
6. Cover and let let simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes - stil occasionally
7. Add grilled sausages for last 5-10 minutes of cooking
8. Let all liquid burn offSlide fresh macintosh apples
9. Place sauerkraut with sausages onto serving platter
10. Add apple slices to serving platter
11. serve
