This is sooooo good! Chocoholics out there will love it! My boyfriend's mother made this for us one night and I fell in love with it. She found the recipe in a murder mystery novel. It is incredible, I warn you, you will wants seconds, and thirds of it. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
2/3 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
3 tablespoons melted butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup white sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 1/4 cups boiling water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Sift the dry ingredients from the first list together. 3. Add the liquid items from the first list and blend well. 4. Pour the mixture in the an 8-inch square greased glass baking dish (a 9x7 pan works just as well). 5. Combine ingredients from the second list and sprinkle over the cake mixture. 6. Pour the boiling water over everything but do not stir! 7. Bake for 40 minutes. 8. A fudgy crust will form on top and a thick sauce forms underneath. 9. Let it stand for 15 minutes before serving. 10. Goes great with some ice cream on the side! |
