A friend broughT this over for my parents and neither eat mushrooms..but they were sweet and gracious. SOOO Keith and I had it for brunch (didn't have the right bread) but gobbled it up. Got the recipe and will make it again and again and try different mushrooms. Read more . We loved it! Ingredients:
1 or 2 small boxes button mushrooms. |
4 spring onions, finely cut. |
11/2 c butter. |
1 tbsp flour. |
7 tbsp sour cream. |
5 tbsp cream. |
grated cheese. |
salt and pepper to taste. |
Directions:
1. Melt a bit of butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. 2. Finely chop the spring onion and saute briefly. 3. Clean the mushrooms and stir into the frying pan with the spring onion. 4. Cook for 5-6 minutes until the mushrooms are just going soft. 5. In a small bowl, combine 1 tsp butter with the flour and mix into a smooth paste. 6. Stir into the mushroom mixture and cook for 3 minutes or until thick. Season with salt and pepper, and stir in the sour cream and cream. 7. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. 8. Pour the mushroom mixture into a baking/serving dish. 9. Sprinkle grated cheese on the top and dot with the remaining butter. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the mushrooms are bubbling and the top is just colouring. |
