This is a favorite breakfast of mine...there is something warming and satisfying about oatmeal! I love to serve all the ingredients together in a bowl, & experience all the sweetness & saltiness at once. Ingredients:
2 cups steel cut oats |
6 pieces turkey bacon |
1/4 cup dried cranberries |
1/4 cup raisins |
4 eggs |
dashes of: cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt & pepper |
splash of almond milk |
Directions:
1. Cook oats normally, adding dried cranberries & raisins when oats are simmering. 2. Stir in cinnamon & nutmeg (go easy on the nutmeg). 3. In separate pan, brown turkey bacon until done according to your preference; i prefer mine slightly crispy. 4. Put oats into bowls, stir in a splash of almond milk, and tear turkey bacon over top. 5. Fry the eggs, one at a time, and add garlic powder, salt, & freshly ground black pepper. Leave yolk runny. 6. Place 1 egg carefully into each bowl & enjoy! |
