this is a good recipe for kids as well as adults. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3 cups old fashioned oats |
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or 1/2 cup chopped pecans |
1/2 cup golden raisins or 1/2 cup regular raisins |
Directions:
1. in a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. 2. beat in eggs and vanilla. 3. combine the oats, flour, baking soda and salt. 4. gradually add to creamed mixture. 5. stir in nuts and raisins. 6. drop by tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. 7. bake at 375 degrees, for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. 8. remove to wire racks to cool. |
