I was hooked on this pie from the first bite! It has become a tradition at our Thanksgiving dinners. I use a little less sugar than the recipe calls for, but you may want to follow the recipe the first time. Ingredients:
1/2 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats |
2 eggs, slightly beaten |
3/4 cup corn syrup |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 dash salt |
1 cup coconut |
1/2-3/4 cup chopped pecans or 1/2-3/4 cup walnuts |
1 9 unbaked pie shell |
Directions:
1. Cream together sugars and butter. 2. Add remaining ingredients except nuts and mix well. 3. Pour into unbaked pie shell. 4. Sprinkle nuts on top. 5. Bake 375* for 45 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean. |
