I make this recipe on cold Saturday mornings for my family. Everyone loves them. We like to flood them with warm maple syrup and fresh whipped cream. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour |
2 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp salt |
2 eggs, lightly beaten |
2 cups milk |
1/5 cup butter, melted |
1 cup quick cooking oats |
1 cup chopped walnuts(you can do half pecans if you want) maple syrup for the top |
whipped cream for the final touch |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Combine eggs, milk, and butter , stir into dry ingredients and mix well. 3. Fold in oats and nuts. 4. Bake in your waffle iron until golden brown. 5. Garnish with peaches if desired. |
