1/2 cup uncooked regular oats |
1/2 cup whole wheat flour |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup egg substitute |
3/4 cup nonfat milk |
2 tablespoons applesauce |
1 tablespoon honey |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake oats in a single layer in a shallow pan 10 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring after 5 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes. Process oats in a blender or food processor 30 seconds or until finely ground. 2. Sift together flours, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl; stir in ground oats. 3. Whisk together eggs, milk, applesauce, and honey in a medium bowl; gently stir in oat mixture. 4. Cook batter in a preheated, sprayed waffle iron until golden. |
