After a very satisfying sampling of Jonesy's crockpot oats /No-Mess-Crock-Pot-Steel-Cut-Oats-322107, I found myself with a pair of dilemnas: what to do with the leftover oatmeal, and a hankering for a vegan date shake. Oatmeal in the shake? It turned out amazing, and though these measurements are approximate, they're as close as I ever get to measuring. Ingredients:
1 cup cooked oatmeal (i used steel cut) |
1 cup vanilla soymilk |
1 banana |
5 -6 pitted dates |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups ice |
Directions:
1. Blend oatmeal with milk of your choice, add the vanilla, banana and dates and blend until smooth, Add ice and blend until smooth. |
