Whether you like 'em with raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, or plain, oatmeal cookies are an old fashioned treat that will warm your heart and your stomach. This is a very old recipe made and perfected by the loving hands of my very own grandmother. She is amazingly talented at making desserts and these cookies are NO exception. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup margarine |
1 -2 tablespoon hot water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups rolled oats |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) |
3/4 cup raisins (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350* F. 2. Mix all ingredients together. 3. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet. 4. Bake 10 minutes or until desired consistancy (crunchy/chewy). |
