A moist and delicious bread cooked on the griddle. My mother enjoys this for dinner too! Ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 1/2 cups rolled oats |
1 egg, beaten |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
2 tablespoons water |
2 tablespoons applesauce |
1 tablespoon butter, softened |
Directions:
1. In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. 2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each cake. Cook until bubbles form in the cakes. Flip and cook the other side. Serve warm with syrup or jam. |
