Oatmeal Cake With Frosting |

Easy dessert! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 cup milk |
1 cup oats |
1/4 cup soft butter |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
3 tablespoons half-and-half |
1/2 cup nuts |
3/4 cup shredded coconut |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. 2. Beat butter until creamy; add sugars and beat until blened. Add vanilla and egg; beat well. 3. Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk; then stir in oats. Pour batter into greased and floured pan (8-inch square glass baking dish). Bake for 40-50 minutes and leave in pan. 4. FROSTING: Combine in a saucepan and boil until frosting bubbles. Spread on cake. |
