Oatmeal Buttermilk Pancakes

These are very good. I obtained this recipe from a friend several years ago and have been making them since. Sometimes I stir in chopped apples and raisins for an even better treat.
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
2 cups buttermilk
3 egg whites
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons brown sugar or less or none
Directions:
1. Combine oatmeal, buttermilk and egg whites.
2. Let stand for at least 1/2 hour or refrigerate up to 24 hours.
3. Add remaining ingredients and stir batter just until the dry ingredients are moistened.
4. Bake on a hot lightly oiled griddle.
