The real deal Scottish oatcakes. Ingredients:
8 ounces fine oatmeal |
1/2 tablespoon fat |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
warm water |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients. 2. Rub in the fat. 3. Add enough water to form a stiff, but pliable dough. 4. Roll out 1/8-inch thick; cut out small circles. 5. Cook on a griddle for 5 minutes, turning once. 6. For crisper, bake at 350° for a few more minutes. |
