Wonderfully Healthy Flavorful Low-Fat Bread Diabetic exchange 1/2 starch/bread 1 fruit Ingredients:
1 cup oat bran |
1 cup chopped dates |
1/3 cup non-fat powdered milk |
1/2 cup molasses |
3/4 cup hot water |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup egg substitute |
1/2 cup flour |
1/2 cup whole wheat flour |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F. 2. Spray 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with pan spray. 3. Mix oat bran, dates,dry milk, molasses, hot water, butter and egg substitute in large bowl; Stir in remaining ingredients. 4. Spread into prepared pan, bake 30-40 minutes; until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. Cool 5 minutes, loosen sides; remove from pan let cool completely before slicing. |
