NUTTY RICE PILAF DATED 1946 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Anderson Estate in Wylie, Texas in 1991. Dated 1946. This is an awesome recipe. I love rice and try just about any rice recipe thrown my way. Read more . I like this one because of the different blends of flavors. Yummy. Ingredients:
2 cups brown rice |
2 cups white wine |
2 cups chicken broth |
1/2 stick butter |
1 teaspoon soy sauce |
1 teaspoon hot sauce |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 cup golden raisins |
2/3 cup slivered almonds |
4 chopped green onions |
Directions:
1. Combine wine, broth, butter and spices in a large covered sauce pan and bring to a brisk boil. 2. Add rice, raisins, almonds and green onions then stir once or twice. 3. Reduce heat to low then cover and allow to simmer 20 minutes. |
