This is my variation of a recipe I found some time ago.Warm ghee just a little, not too liquid, but soft enough so it can mix with the flour. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1 cup ghee |
1 tbsp baking powder |
3 tbsp milk powder |
4 tsp vanilla essence |
1/4 cup chopped almonds/pistachios/peanuts |
Directions:
1. Heat the oven to 180 C/350 F. Lightly coat a large baking tray with butter. 2. Sift the flour, baking powder, and milk powder in a mixing bowl. 3. Beat the ghee and sugar in a separate bowl till it is light and fluffy. 4. Add the vanilla essence. 5. Fold in the flour mixture & nuts and mix until it is smooth. 6. Divide the dough into 24 equal portions, then flatten the dough and 7. form a circular shape with your palms. Keep pressing the edges to form a smooth cookie. 8. Arrange on the baking tray,2 inches apart. 9. Bake them for 10-12 mins, or until done. 10. Remove from the oven, let them cool down to room temperature, then store them in an air-tight container. |
