This is another Hand me down from one of the Sisters at church. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2 cups sugar |
4 ounces cream cheese |
4 egg yolks |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon rum extract |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
4 egg whites, beaten stiffly |
Directions:
1. Have butter, eggs, cream cheese and milk at room temp. 2. Cream butter, sugar and cream cheese together, add egg yolks, flavorings, water and buttermilk. 3. Sift all dry ingredients together and add to mixture. 4. Fold in egg whites. 5. Bake in three 8 pans lined with wax paper (bottoms only) 350* for 40 min. 6. NOTES: Frost with Cream Cheese with Buttered Pecan Frosting . |
