This is really good around the holidays or any time actually.... Its a great comfort food....Its an old recipe Ive had for years....I love the crumb topping.. Ingredients:
2 large sweet potatoes |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon allspice |
1/2 stick margarine |
1 1/2 cups milk |
topping |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 cup pecans |
1/2 stick margarine |
Directions:
1. Peel and boil potatoes until tender; drain 2. Add sugar, egg, spices, margarine and milk; beat until smooth. 3. Pour into buttered baking dish. 4. Topping: 5. Combine first 4 ingredients; spread over top of potato mixture. 6. Dot with margarine. 7. Bake in 350 degree oven until golden brown, about 35 minutes. |
