One of my favorite recipes from my youth! So easy to make and soooo addicting! I based the calories on 44 1/2 cup servings, but honestly, I can never eat just a half cup! ;) I also broke out the nuts to get a better idea of nutrition, but I usually just buy a 1 lb jar of mixed nuts (preferably roasted unsalted). Ingredients:
4 cups rice chex |
4 cups corn chex |
4 cups kix |
4 cups cheerios |
16 oz pretzel sticks |
1 cup hazelnuts |
1 cup almonds |
1 cup cashews |
5 oz brazil nuts |
2 tsp worchestershire sauce |
1 tsp celery salt |
1 tsp onion salt |
1 tsp garlic salt |
1 cup becel light margarine |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. 2. Combine cereals, pretzels and nuts in a large roasting pan, gently lifting with a large spatula to mix. 3. Meanwhile, heat margerine in a small bowl until melted. Stir in worchestershire sauce and spices until well blended. 4. Pour margerine mix evenly over cereal mix and gently lift and stir to coat. 5. Bake for 1 hour, lift/stirring every 15 minutes (3x total). Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container. |
