NUT JAMMER COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hartman Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
8 ounce package cream cheese |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
2 cups finely chopped nuts |
12 ounce jar apricot jam |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1/3 cup powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and cream cheese then add flour and baking powder then chill dough 3 hours. 2. Mix nuts, jam and granulated sugar together for filling. 3. Divide dough into 4 equal parts working with 1/4 of the dough at a time. 4. Refrigerate remaining dough. 5. Roll dough very thin on lightly floured board then cut into 2” squares and place on baking sheet. 6. Put 1 teaspoon nut filling in center of square and top with another square of dough. 7. Press edges together with floured fork then bake at 350 for 20 minutes. |
