This is a very old recipe. It came from an estate sale I purchased a few years back. The date on the card is 1918. Good over noodles. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons bacon drippings |
2 tablespoons minced onion |
2 tablespoons peanut butter |
1 cup milk |
1 quart chopped cooked potatoes |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 cup broken nut meats |
1 shredded green pepper |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Put the drippings in a frying pan. 2. Add the minced onion and fry until it is a deep yellow. 3. Add your peanut butter and milk next stirring constantly until everything comes to a boil. 4. Add potatoes, celery, nut meats and green pepper. 5. Season with salt and pepper then mix thoroughly. 6. Cook for 30 minutes over low flame stirring occasionally. 7. Serve hot over noodles. |
