This is a cookie recipe my mother got out of a newspaper when I was a kid, the original recipe said it could be made as a pie crust or as cookies. My mother always opted for the cookies and so did I. These are best served the first day you make them and do not keep well, but are worth the effort, besides they don't make many and are so good they will soon be gone. Also don't freeze them, they don't like it. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup butter (no substitutions) |
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or 1/4 cup pecans |
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar |
chocolate frosting |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together all ingredients to form stiff dough. Seperate into 36 equal pieces. Slightly flatten each into oval shape. 2. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. 3. Remove to wire rack to cool. 4. Frost as desired. |
