A traditional Norwegian Christmas recipe. Ingredients:
1 pound unsalted butter |
3 cups white sugar |
3 teaspoons bakers' ammonia |
1 cup finely chopped almonds |
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Stir in the powdered ammonia and chopped almonds. Knead in the flour. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and freeze for 1 hour. 2. preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Take cookies out of the freezer and bake for 30 minutes. |
