An old family recipe that goes back at least four generations from me. Noodles are always present at holiday dinners. My family uses these instead of gravy on mashed potatoes. Ingredients:
1 egg, well beaten |
1/4 c milk |
yellow food coloring, a few drops |
1 c flour |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 tsp baking powder |
Directions:
1. Mix milk, beaten egg, & food coloring. 2. Add flour, salt, & baking powder, mixing well. 3. Put dough on floured cutting board. 4. Roll very thin. 5. Cut with noodle cutter or flour lightly, roll up dough & cut with sharp knife into very narrow noodles. 6. Cook in a rich chicken or turkey broth until done. 7. Do not let over boil. 8. Noodles freeze well for later preparation. |
