An old favorite from my mother, the recipe has orgins lost in antiquity, but was a favorite at our winter dinner table. Ingredients:
1 lb. wide noodles |
1 pint sour cream |
1 pint cottage cheese |
salt and pepper |
3 eggs |
1/4 lb. butter |
1 cup milk |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
raisins or apple slices may be added, optional |
Directions:
1. Cook noodles according to directions and drain 2. beat eggs with milk 3. add sour cream and cottage cheese to milk mixture 4. add sugar and cinnamon to milk/cheese mixture, mix well 5. combine noodles with milk/cheese mixture 6. add fruit if desired 7. pour into buttered 9 x13 baking dish, sprinkle top with cinnamon 8. bake 45 min at 350 degrees F. or until nicely browned. 9. serve warm or at room temperature. |
