Make bread sometimes,just to smell the aroma Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour |
1-1/2 cups white flour |
1/2 cup dry milk,(powdered milk) |
1-1/2 teaspoons salt |
2 packages dry yeast |
1/4 cup harvested fresh raw honey |
1-1/2 cups warm water |
2 cups whole bran |
1 egg |
1/3 cup butter,softend |
Directions:
1. Stir together the fours,dry milk,and salt,set aside. 2. In larger bowl,combine yeast,honey and the warm water,stir in bran. 3. Let stand about 3 minutes. 4. Add egg,butter and about 1/2 of the flour mixture. 5. Beat with a mixer for about 2 minutes(or)by hand about 250 strokes. 6. With wooden spoon,mix in remaining flour mixture to form a stiff dough. 7. Cover bowl lightly and let rest in warm place until doubled,about 1 hour. 8. Stir down. 9. Spoon into a well-greased loaf pan-9x5x3. 10. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. 11. Remove from pan and brush with butter if desired. |
