These are easy to make and better than store bought cause theyre homemade! The hardest part is rolling them out evenly and who cares if they arent perfect, its more noticable that theyre homemade if theyre not! The original recipe says to use a mason jar lid to cut them but a large round cookie cutter works nicely. Just remember to flour whatever you use before you cut.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 -4 tablespoons shortening (crisco)
2/3-3/4 cup whole milk (you can substitute skim if you prefer)
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly until dough forms a ball.
2. Place on floured board or even a floured counter works, and flatten with a floured rolling pin. Use Mason jar lids to cut; make sure dough fills entire lid. Bake in a greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish at 350 degrees until brown, about 20-30 minutes.
