this is a fast and easy crust for pies or cakes such as a cheesecake... it would be great with a banana cream pie... Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups (10 ounces) pecans, toasted and coarsely chopped |
1 cup (4 ounces) walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped |
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar |
6 ounces butter, melted |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine nuts and brown sugar. With a wooden spoon, stir in butter. 2. for pie.... press into a 9-inch pie plate. 3. refrigerate ..add favorite filling 4. for cake... such as cheese cake 5. Cut an 8-inch circle of parchment paper and place in bottom of 8 springform pan with removable bottom. Press nut mixture over bottom of pan. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. |
