Description from the web: Tarte au sirop d'erable - This classic sweet of old Quebec has a smooth, rich filling, typically shallow and very sweet. I found this hand written recipe in my late MIL's collection. Who knows where it came from; she was Texas born & raised.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup maple syrup
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1 pie crust, baked
Directions:
1. Whisk water with flour until smooth; stir in syrup.
2. Stir in egg.
3. In a small heavy saucepan, cook over medium -low heat, stirring, until thick, 5-6 minutes.
4. Add butter & stir till melted.
5. Pour into baked pie crust.
6. Let cool.
