A delicious recipe of my grandma's. It has more sugar and less peanut butter than other recipes I've seen, so it's more crumbly. But it's amazing. Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
1/4 cup cocoa powder |
3/4 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons peanut butter |
4 cups uncooked oatmeal |
Directions:
1. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar and milk and mix. Cook on high until mixture starts to boil; REDUCE HEAT* to medium and cook for 4 minutes. Remove from heat. 2. Add vanilla, butter and peanut butter, mixing well. Then add the oatmeal and mix with a wooden spoon. Drop by the teaspoon onto wax paper and cool. 3. *Be very careful. If you don't reduce the heat at this point, the mixture will crystalize almost instantly when you remove it from the heat. |
