This is a show-off appetizer for any party or get-together. Cook time means chilling time Ingredients:
3 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
16 oz. cottage cheese (2 cups), drained |
2 tbsp. prepared horseradish (or chopped canned green chilis) |
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
2 tbsp. dijon mustard |
6 bacon slices, cooked, drained and crumbled |
2 chopped green onion |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1/8 tsp. pepper |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl or a food processor, combine Cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, horseradish or chilis, mayonnaise, mustard, bacon, green onion, salt , pepper and butter. 2. Process or mix until blended but not smooth. 3. Press into an ungreased 8 inch springform pan, cover with foil or plastic wrap; refrigerate at for at least 4 hours. 4. Remove cover and sides of pan. 5. Garnish with chopped tomatoes and chopped green onions in a decorative pattern. 6. Cut into thin wedges and serve with crackers. |
