Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 1/4 cups flaked coconut, divided |
1 cup dates, chopped |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 cup unsalted butter |
1 tablespoon golden syrup |
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F, then grease & flour a 9-inch square baking dish. 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, 1 cup of coconut, dates, sugar & baking powder. 3. In a saucepan melt butter, then stir in the golden syrup & vanilla. 4. Pour over the mixture in the large bowl, mixing until crumbly, then press into the prepared baking dish. 5. Bake 20-30 minutes, then sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/4 cup of coconut. 6. When cool, cut into 9 squares & enjoy! |
