A tasty, simple cheese ball; perfect for get-togethers. I made this New Year's Day, 2008, for my family, but it would be great for entertaining a small crowd. Really good with grainy or wheat crackers. Ingredients:
2 (8 oz) packages low fat cream cheese |
2 cups cheddar or mexican style shredded cheese |
1/2 tsp salt |
2 1/2 oz thinly sliced ham, chopped |
1 tsp garlic powder |
1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce |
1/3 cup roasted red pepper, chopped |
1/4 cup green onion, chopped |
Directions:
1. Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 30 minutes beforehand, for easier mixing. 2. Put all ingredients in medium to large mixing bowl and blend until creamy (electric hand mixer recommended). 3. Refrigerate for one hour. 4. With wet hands to prevent sticking, roll mixture into a ball and roll over sliced almonds or finely chopped ham. Serve cool with crackers. |
