An adaptation of Sloppy Joes without using the canned stuff which has a lot of added preservatives. This also uses Spinach which ups the nutrition quotent. My kids love this recipe even more than the orginal canned version! Can be used with ground turkey or ground beef. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground turkey |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 medium onion, finely diced |
1 lb fresh baby spinach |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 eggs, lightly beaten |
1 (12 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Brown turkey with minced garlic and onions. 2. When almost done, add spinach and cook until wilted. 3. Add beaten eggs, tomato sauce, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese. 4. Stir until well mixed and sauce is to your liking. 5. Serve on hamburger buns and enjoy! |
