My mom got this recipe from my grandma and its wonderful! My husband loves this with my Hamburger Broccoli Pie recipe, but also said it'd be a great recipe with 'whatever'. So! I hope it works for you too! :D Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
3/4-1 cup shortening |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
3 tablespoons cold water |
Directions:
1. Cut shortening into flour and salt. 2. Beat egg, mix with water and vinegar and add to flour mixture. Mix well. Roll on well-floured surface. 3. I divide in half and roll half for the bottom and half for the top crust. 4. I always melt the shortening to make sure I have exactly 3/4 or 1 cup. If you do melt yours, make sure you refrigerate the finished crust for about twenty minutes or so, until it firms up a bit before you use it. Otherwise it'll stick to whatever you roll it out on. |
