My dad helps his neighbor with mowing the lawn and she repays him with garden veggies, homemade jams and such. This time she gave him a big bowl of potato soup (after the first bowl he went and asked for more.:)~) He asked her for the recipe for me and this is it. Read more . Made it today and worked out the details...Good stuff! Ingredients:
5 lbs peeled and diced potatoes |
1 stick butter |
1 large yellow onion |
2 cups milk |
8 oz sour cream |
1 can cream of celery soup |
1 can cream of chicken soup |
1 lb cubed velveeta |
1 8 oz pkg chopped ham pieces or cooked bacon |
Directions:
1. In large pot melt butter, cook onions about 5 mins til soft. 2. Add potatoes and enough water to cover. Boil until fork tender. 3. Drain 1/2 water. 4. Add milk, sour cream, soups, Velveeta, ham or bacon. 5. Cook till yummy, about 20 min. 6. Good with crusty bread. |
