Flank steak, grilled to perfection, and combined with a selection of choice herbs and spices makes this salad not only delicious, but healthy as well. The nuts give it that extra crunch. Ingredients:
2/3 cup dijon mustard |
2 tbsp honey |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce |
2 tbsp grated, peeled ginger |
1 tsp minced garlic |
1 medium yellow or orange bell pepper (or half each for added color!) |
1 lb boneless sirloin or flank steak, sliced thinly |
8 cups mixed salad greens, washed & torn |
2 green onions, thinly shredded |
1/4 cup chopped, dry-roasted peanuts |
Directions:
1. Combine mustard, water, Teriyaki sauce, honey, ginger and garlic. 2. Pour 1/2 cup of this dressing into a small serving bowl. 3. Broil or grill the steak 10 minutes or until done to your specified taste. 4. Baste with the remaining 1/2 cup of the dressing, and let stand 5 minutes to absorb. 5. Thinly slice the steak. 6. Serve over the salad greens. 7. Drizzle with reserved dressing. |
